Leland C. Selby, a graduate of the University of Richmond and the University of Virginia School of Law, has practiced in Greenwich throughout his career, having been a member of Whitman Breed Abbott & Morgan and its predecessor firms for 26 years before becoming a founding partner of what is now Fogarty, Cohen, Russo & Nemiroff in 1995. Following his stepping down from active partnership duties in 2016, Mr. Selby joined Smith & Grant LLP in the capacity of Of Counsel. Mr. Selby is admitted to practice law in Connecticut and New York and was a member of the bar associations of both states as well as the American Bar Association. He is a Fellow of the American College of Trusts and Estates Counsel and has served on the Ethics Committee and the Executive Committee of the Estates and Probate Section of the Connecticut Bar Association. Mr. Selby has served on numerous local boards including the Retirement System of the Town of Greenwich, United Way of Greenwich (of which he served as President), the Greenwich Foundation for Community Gifts (of which he served as Chairman), and Stamford Center for the Arts. He has served on the national boards of the English-Speaking Union of the U.S. and the Yellowstone Park Foundation. He currently serves on the National Advisory Council of Yellowstone Forever. Mr. Selby splits his time between Greenwich and Bozeman, MT, where he and his wife, Diane, established their primary residence in 2015.
